A long game of acquisition hot potato ultimately landed the network in the hands of Discovery, Inc. How would this misfit network stake its claim in its new family? As kids we were inundated by advertisements for everything under the sun: pervasive commercials for sugary drinks, cereals, and toys interspersed between cartoons designed to sell sugary drinks, cereals, and toys. While I fully admit that the original Travel Channel programs were transparent advertisements for vacation packages, they stirred up an interest in me to see the world.

Most of the items on my traveling bucket list looking at you, Atlantis Resort water slide that goes through a shark tank started as segments on The Travel Channel. Nowadays if I want to see some Xtreme roller coasters or haunted attractions, I can find infinite YouTube videos to scratch my itch. The Travel Channel actually inspired me and was helpful when I was pursuing my degree in Travel Industry Operations a little over 20 years ago.

Once Andrew Zimmern departed, lost cause…. I hate the programming now. I enjoyed Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern. I watch Josh Gates from time to time, but other than that, just not into the paranormal side that this channel has taken on. Bring me more destinations that bring me joy and tranquility. Show me trips to take in an RV, things that create good memories. Get rid of the BS. The Paranormal Chanel is what it should be called. Not much travel involved anymore.

The captain was not very forthcoming with information about the delay. Overall the experience was unpleasant and I don't look forward to having to repeat it. The crew was very polite and gave me thorough instructions for transporting my cats.

Because of this, I had to put my cat in the overhead bin during takeoff. This gave me and my cat a lot of stress, although they let me take her out during the landing. Time trying to get out of BKK was longer than the flight. Crew was not helpful or informative. Was not compensated for delays at all, missed wedding functions!!

I am hot natured and have noticed that a lot of Asian airlines do not have this feature. The flight crew was very good. And the head rests are as flat and hard as rocks. They need to be changed. It is evident that the in-flight crew preferred conversing with passengers who could speak Thai. Seats were cramped and not enough leg-room. They lacked flavor and were not properly cooked. In-flight entertainment options was old and in-seat monitors were small. I had to clear customs, collect my luggage, check my luggage back in and go back through security.

I only made my next flight because I walked to the front of the line and cut in front of about 20 people. It was very stressful.

No Lounge access possible and no food vaucher offered. I had to ask to even get a small food vaucher. I traveled with my 4 year old son on this trip. Excellent service, high quality food options and flight amenities. I really enjoyed the food as did my son. My son left his backpack behind on the first leg and the airline staff retreived it and delivered it to the lounge in less than 15 minutes. I was astounded and had almost given up on seeing the bag again, given my experience with other airlines in the past.

This is going to be airline of choice for future trips! I understand that there could be unexpected problems. But please do not say that due to 'operational reasons'.
