I tried it on NIM at level 5. Felix: It looked like a network related problem to me as well. But no. Network parameters remaining same, another mksysb just works. Then mksysb is taken from the server. Tried to re-install the LPAR. Failed with console code. The question again: will IBM support help me fixing this problem? From: ibm-aix-l Groups. If you have SAN storage presented to both systems, or can move the physical disks build the lpar on the old, shutdown and get the storage presented to the target and boot.
WRT your specific problem, the ethernet cards installed in the new hardware, are they different models to the other lpars which build fine on the new hardware, can you select different ethernet cards? The SP2 series used mksysbs that were pushed back to a nim server. A mksysb restore was how nodes were rebuilt but there was one for each node.
Still, if the latest documents make no mention, then its not supported. What does the redbook say? What they support is what they document. I found the solution. I enabled Uncommented these two lines:. I was going to discuss about it.

I have done another installation to another client in the same subnet of the nim master and it works well. The client has all the resources allocated to be installed.
Hope this helps you Cheers Al. Try reseting the client operation and try allocating the resources again. Regards, Khalid. Hi, I did this several time and also remove the client and recreate it and also remove the network resource and recreate it properly etc If you are saying that you managed to do it on another machine on the same subnet then i wouldn't doubt in the network! There must be something wrong with this specific client!
How many network adapter does the client have? Is there any possibility that the NIM is configured on a different adapter than the one you are trying to install from? Did you try that? HTH, p5wizard. Quick Links.
Search Forums. Show Threads. Show Posts. Registered User. Hi, I have put the tftpd on verbose mode and have this on syslog. I have rechecked the network used by the client and is correctly defined. The status Timeout of the tftpd could be generated by a firewall? Any idea? Linux install from NIM. AIX 5. I was trying to install bos.
