I have watched them mold kids into young adults who will do amazing things for our society. Their willingness to always put their students first is something you won't find anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and try one of their many amazing programs. You will not be disappointed! Great martial arts instruction and practice in a safe, supportive atmosphere. Adult classes are vigorous exercise combined with careful, intense, expert training. Thank you for strengthening the next generation of our forest!

The centerpiece of this program is really free play and connecting with nature. Daily outdoor activities may include hiking in the forest, exploring streams and ponds, searching for signs of wildlife, and even canoeing!

In addition to all these great places, many city rec centers run their own affordable after school programs, which also provide pickup from the neighborhood. These programs begin to enroll in the summer, and fill up quickly, so check as soon as possible if you are interested. The rates are extremely reasonable, they provide a snack which is almost a full meal , homework help, indoor and outdoor depending on weather games, computer lab, and other activities.

Norris Square Neighborhood Project All ages Norris Square Neighborhood Project is a community-driven, bilingual learning center in North Philadelphia that offers innovative youth and community programming including after school programs, arts and media programs, urban gardening and a year round CSA for Latino youth.

PACTS students engage in hands-on science workshops, field-based research, special field trips, college and career counseling, and much more. We provide comprehensive supports, including the promise of a tuition scholarship, aligned with what research indicates is needed to enable every child to achieve his or her potential. SquashSmarts Grades: SquashSmarts works with 5thth grade students who are selected based on commitment, effort and attitude, not athletic or academic ability.

Students also participate in competitive squash opportunities, community service projects, cultural outings, and special events. Starfinder Ages: Starfinder pairs athletic instruction with a range of educational and enrichment programs, delivered after school during the academic year and at summer camps. Programs take place in our 30, square foot indoor soccer and education facility as well as at schools and recreation centers around the region.

These schools include public, independent and parochial schools in the Philadelphia area. Students are accepted into the Scholars Program in fourth grade, begin the month academic preparation component during the summer before fifth grade, and begin attending their new schools in the sixth grade. The Scholars Program comprises every phase of the Scholars' progression through the program, from admission in the fourth grade to graduation from college.

United Communities Southeast Philadelphia All ages United Communities Southeast Philadelphia has a long and rich tradition of service to children, adults and families residing in Southeast Philadelphia. However, if you have a 7th grader, the Y will provide a free one-year membership as part of the 7th Grade Membership Initiative.

Mighty Writers The free programs are aimed for kids aged who are focused on improving their writing skills. Programs include daily after-school academies, themed workshops, mentorships, and scholars program for high school students. Mighty Writers also offers toddler workshops for kids years old. Membership is required, but is generally inexpensive.
